Logo and brand identity

A complete identity, not a single drawing. Logo, colour, type and the rules that keep it consistent everywhere the business appears.

What we deliver

Everything needed to use the brand without asking us

Most identities fall apart because the files run out before the business does. The kit is built so a printer, a supplier or a new employee can use it correctly on their own.

Logo suite

A primary logo, a secondary lockup and a compact mark, so the identity works on a sign, a screen and an avatar.

Colour system

A defined palette with the values needed for print, screen and interface use, plus rules on where each colour belongs.

Typography

Heading and body typefaces with sizes, weights and spacing set out, so written material stays consistent.

Usage rules

Clear guidance on spacing, minimum sizes, backgrounds and the things that should never be done to the mark.

File exports

Vector and raster files prepared for print, web and social, in the formats suppliers and platforms actually ask for.

Applied examples

The identity shown in real use rather than on a blank canvas, so you can see how it holds up.

Who it suits

Three situations this solves

New businesses

You are opening and need an identity that looks settled from day one rather than assembled in a hurry.

Rebrands

The name stays, the look does not. Usually because the current one was made quickly and never revisited.

Outgrown identities

The business has changed, moved market or added locations, and the identity is now describing something that no longer exists.

How we work

Direction first, decoration last

  1. 1

    Research and positioning

We look at the business, the customers and the competitors before drawing anything, and agree what the identity has to communicate.

  2. 2

    Direction concepts

A small number of distinct directions, each with a reason behind it. Not dozens of variations on the same idea.

  3. 3

    Refinement

One direction is chosen and taken to finished quality, tested at the sizes and surfaces it will actually appear on.

  4. 4

    Delivery of the brand kit

Files, rules and applied examples handed over together, with the source files transferred to you.

Brand and the system

The identity has to survive contact with the operation

A brand is not finished when the logo is approved. It has to hold on booking pages, confirmation emails, invoices, receipts and every automated message a business sends. Those surfaces usually outnumber the marketing ones.

When a business runs a Voltalyze Business Operating System, the identity is applied across those surfaces as part of setup, so what a client receives after booking looks like what convinced them to book.

What we need from you

Five things that keep the work moving

  • What the business does, who it serves and what it wants to be known for
  • Any existing materials, even ones you dislike, so we know what to move away from
  • Names of competitors or brands you rate, with a line on why
  • A single decision maker who can approve a direction
  • The places the identity has to work: signage, uniforms, packaging, app, invoices
Questions

Before you enquire

How many rounds of revisions are there?
Refinement is part of the process rather than a counted allowance, but it applies to the direction you selected. Changing direction after selection is a new piece of work and is agreed before it starts.
Do I own the files?
Yes. On completion the source files and full rights to the finished identity transfer to you. You are free to hand them to any other supplier later.
Do you handle trademarks?
No. We do not file or clear trademarks, and nothing we deliver should be read as legal advice on availability. If registration matters to you, speak to a trademark attorney before committing to a name or mark.
What is actually in the brand kit?
The logo suite, the colour and type systems, usage rules and the exported files for print, web and social, delivered together in one organised set rather than as loose attachments.
Can you apply the identity to a website?
Yes. Website design and development is a separate service and the two are frequently scoped together, with the identity finished first so the site is built on top of it.
What if we already have a logo we like?
Then we do not replace it. In that case the work is usually about building the system around it: colour, type, rules and files, so it stops being applied differently every time someone uses it.
